I have a WRT54G v5 that the VPN pass through won't work with majority of my client's VPN servers. I've talked to Linksys tech support and to a department which deals with known issues. The micro version does not support this, the version of your wrt54g needs to be able to run the bigger vpn version of the firmware.
I have successfully been able to set up a VPN connection with my WRT54GL using DD-WRT v.24. From a remote location I am able to access the LAN, sort of. What I want to be able to do is browse the shared folders on the LAN remotely (using Mac OS X), but I am unable to see any folders or shared resources in the Network area.

Nov 20, 2017 · yeah k24 vpn on a 4 or 8 MB flash wrt54g still works fine any K26 on a 4 MB flash router is a waste these days and only 8 MB flash routers can run K3x..just barely.and that does not include wrt54g. a bare minmium router for vpn would be e1200v2 or e2500 where you could probably stream ok to one client no high def
